Garito Cafe Club

The Garito Café, it's name since the beginning, started in the mid 70's. Directed and created by the Juan family, it was the meeting point of the most avant-garde youth of the island during many years. Numerous art exhibitions have been held there and a great quantity of local nobel artists work has been hung on it's walls.

A popular place with the young (and not so young) of which most have their special memories. Many people came to enjoy the long, lazy afternoons, get togethers or even to share their first kisses....

In June of 1998, Garito Café began a new cycle, this time run by Nacho & Carlos Velasco, Eva and Uvete. Respecting the existing deco and renovating the installations, Garito Café was born, a new concept of Café-Club where the protagonist is it's music.

In the early evening the music can be anything from fusioned jazz, pure jazz and even if the latest tendencies in electronic music are played, the vibe will always remain "lounge ambient". At night the music progresses towards dance rythms, programming practically every style of dance music possible, depending on the day of the week and theme chosen.

In it's interior, the great sound enhances the public's enjoyment of the DJ's sets, and in it's exterior, the maritime setting is just perfect for conversation and chilling out.

Garito is superbly located. In the centre of Palma next to the Paseo Maritimo, the Dársena de ca'n Barbará is a quiet pedestrianised maritime area with small boats.
